Just a reminder that beginning with the 2019 tax bills, the City of Brevard began collecting taxes for the City of Brevard and Heart of Brevard districts. The Tax Administration office strives to visit each neighborhood in the county within a 6-year window. Neighborhoods are chosen based on the last date visited. If you are not home, or do not wish to come to the door, a notice will be left on the door notifying you of our visit. If you are home, the appraiser will also ask a few questions to verify the interior features of the home. Our appraisers will be conducting an exterior review of the property to ensure the building characteristics in our records are accurate. Tax Office appraisers will not ask to enter your home. Tax Office appraisers will be driving a marked county vehicle and will knock on your door to identify themselves before performing the review. Real Property Appraisers from the Transylvania County Tax Office will continue to review properties throughout the county. Tax bills of $100 or more automatically include payment coupons that break the bill down in to four payments due the 15th of each month starting in August. In North Carolina, tax bills have a due date of September 1, but taxpayers have until Januto pay without interest. 2022 tax bills mailed out on July 26, 2022.
